Honey Production Estimator Guide

The Honey Production Estimator projects per-hive yield and revenue based on your region, colony strength, and floral sources.

How to use it:

  • Select your geographic region
  • Enter your colony count and average strength
  • Choose the primary floral source
  • Adjust for season length and management factors

  • Regional benchmarks:

  • Northern Great Plains (MT, ND, SD): 80-120 lbs per hive
  • Pacific Northwest: 50-80 lbs per hive
  • California: 30-60 lbs per hive
  • Southeast: 35-50 lbs per hive
  • National average: 50-60 lbs per hive

  • Remember: Leave 60-80 lbs per hive for winter stores in northern climates, 40-60 lbs in the south. Harvesting too aggressively leads to colony losses.
